Blackbelt grading Tuesday, June 01, 2004
Yep - thats me.. the day has been and gone. I had my blackbelt grading this weekend. What a long day. Woke up at 7am, to pick up friend (grading too).. drove down to south london - to arrive at 9am. From there.. we are weighed in and warmed up for a start at 10am! The day, through doing forms, sparring blackbelts, 2vs1, and all the other people going for blackbelts.. then doing destruction (or not in my case!!) went on til about 9pm! I was dead on my feet.. and drove back with matchsticks holding my eyes open!
So - what happened..? Well.. forms seemed ok.. 2vs1went better than expected.. all my sparring was pretty much ok (poor old shane.. one opponent who I had to spar - half my weight!!) then breaking!!.. hmm.. well - smashed through the 8 tiles.. then smashed my hand on the brick!! (I blame it on the lack of cheerleaders!) Bugger! Oww well.. then kicked through 2"wood- That was fine.
